At the 11th February Parish Council meeting, Members Resolved that they had 'No Confidence' in Preston City Council Planning Department to undertake their statutory duties, as a result of badly flawed City Council Planning Policy. The decision has been taken as a direct result of the recent planning approvals in the Parish.
Members fully understand that the City Council does not have a 5 year housing supply, but they believe that more should and could be done to establish what housing is needed, on a Parish level, taking into account current permissions not yet built and the amount / lack of supporting infrastructure.
The Motion and Supporting Statement has been sent to the Secretary of State, the Chief of Executive of Preston City Council and Ben Wallace MP.
It is hoped that this action (along with that taken by Broughton Parish Council) will encourage all those concerned, to seriously consider the current planning situation, which is threatening to overwhelm the identity of our rural villages.
